No surgery necessary thankfully, but more updates will be coming soon.
Well, a lot has happened in the past couple of weeks with my foot. Here’s the rundown.
And that’s the news for now.
What do you do when you have a friend that’s stuck in a situation you’ve been before? What do you do when you can’t help them?
I’m going to be pretty open and honest here about a little bit of my past as embarrassing it is to me even to this day. When I was seventeen, I started dating a guy I had known online for years. We’ll call him D. We had been on and off for a while, and we decided to try one more time. It was one of the biggest mistakes I’ve made in my life.
So as I mentioned back in January, we had a water main break in front of our house, and the city came out to fix it. Unfortunately, the front hasn’t been fixed since. The even more unfortunate part about it is that same weekend, I broke my toe and didn’t realize it. Now I’m actually going to have to have it reset, or possibly surgery (I’ll find out on Friday). Why is this a problem? Well.. You can’t use crutches on a broken walkway.
Just want to show two pictures. We decided to paint the living room, so here’s how one wall goes so far.
White walls in high gloss were the before, but here’s the during and after.
This Valentine’s day, I made an attempt to get Paul a new pair of shoes and a hoodie, also some trading cards and a tiny little gnome in a box which made him laugh. Unfortunately he didn’t like the shoes I picked, and the hoodie was a size too small, so we went on a search to find him something good yesterday before we headed up to Philadelphia to go have dinner at our favorite restaurant.
He got me a new camera this Valentine’s day (a Nikon Coolpix S210), so you’ll probably be seeing a lot more photos from this point on. So after I failed at the shoes, we went on a mission to find ones he liked. After two malls and about five shops, we finally found shoes he wanted, and they were the shoes he initially wanted.
So, usually, my weekends are pretty dull. Paul and I stay at home and usually do some errands if need be, but really nothing goes on that’s really anything to shout about. However, this weekend was an exception to everything.
I woke up on Saturday morning to hear sounds outside my door–the sounds of construction–that woke me, and several bangs on my door. I’m half asleep, and I pull myself out of bed, throw some clothes on, and answer my door.
In front of our house, water is flowing onto the street, and there’s a crane sitting in the front yard with about ten guys dressed up in construction gear. A man is standing in front of the door and explains to me that it seems as if the water pipe in the front of our house has broken overnight, and it’s been leaking on the street and they are going to need to repair it. And also, that they’ll have to turn off the water while they do this. This throws all of our cleaning plans out of the window for now.
So I thank him, and go back upstairs, and wake up Paul and tell him what’s going on… Being as he is partially deaf and doesn’t wear hearing aids when he sleeps, he was dozing throughout the entire time and I was kind of jealous of him that he got to sleep in a bit longer. But it only lasts for a few minutes because we both decide to drag ourselves out of bed and sit on the couch and watch some television.
This weekend was also supposed to be dealing with our landlord and a listing agent because apparently they had wanted to list our house for sale. This came out of the blue last weekend when both stopped by and wanted to see the house–of course in Delaware, there’s a law where we are supposed to have fourty-eight hours prior notice and we were half awake when they came to knock. And the house wasn’t too clean seeing as neither of us have had the motivation to clean at all recently. But that’s alright.
I gave her a call, left a message, and half an hour later she called back saying she had cancelled the appointment with the listing agent and she apologized for dropping a bomb on us, and said that she’ll keep us more informed and I said I’d send her my email address (they live one state away from us so communication isn’t the easiest).
Also found out that Paul and my shifts are going to be at the same time, consecutive days, so for once we will have two weekend days off together. This pleases me more than you’d know, finally we don’t have to rush and do everything on one day.
I have to say though, this definitely was one odd weekend. And our frontyard is going to look like a mess until Monday when they come to fix it up.
Making sure everything seems pretty good with the domain right now. I migrated hosting companies recently and decided I’d have to rebuild this from scratch. Works for me!
So a brand new start here!
